Details: Custom 4 Bed, 3 Bath, 3 Living
When a large vacant block close to Albury’s CBD went up for sale, the Bosse family seized the opportunity to build three investment properties in such a coveted location. The end result was so impressive, however, that daughter Brooke and her partner decided to make one of the homes their own.
After wrapping up their successful hospitality business, the Bosse family were looking for a new venture. With strong growth in property values in central Albury, they were confident they’d see a solid return on a build-to-sell property investment.
They came across a site in David St that was large enough to build three standalone homes. Most of the quality properties in central Albury are older homes: charming for sure, but costly to renovate and maintain. The Bosses saw an opportunity to build modern, custom homes that offered buyers elegant, low-maintenance living right in the heart of Albury.
Choosing who to build with was easy. The Bosses had known Peter Bowen personally for over 30 years. They knew PBH had the reputation and experience to deliver exactly what they were looking for, on a fixed budget.
“Some people wrongly assume that to build with Peter Bowen Homes you have to build on one of their estates out at Thurgoona. We loved the fact that we could build with someone we knew and trusted, on a block right in the heart of Albury,” Brooke says.
With the three homes right beside each other, the Bosses wanted each to have its own character and unique features.
They chose three different, but complementary, PBH plans with brick exteriors that wouldn’t look out of place alongside the older homes in the street.
“It was important they were in step with the existing homes in the neighbourhood. We didn’t want to build an eyesore,” Graeme Bosse, Brooke's father, adds.
Given the location in prestigious central Albury, the Bosses chose to customise the plans and upgrade key features to reflect buyer demand, including higher ceilings, larger stoves and an additional ensuite bathroom.
Brooke says being able to customise pre-designed plans with the guidance of the PBH team made the process straightforward and stress free.
“The team at Peter Bowen Homes are easy to talk to. They spoke to us about why we were building, then made suggestions that would help us achieve what we wanted.”
When it came to choosing tiles and selecting colours, they once again turned to our team for guidance.
“They’ve been building locally for decades, so I figured they’re the experts, they know what they’re doing!” Brooke says.
With 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, the homes are deceptively spacious, and much larger than they appear from the street. But their clever design makes it easy to close off sections when not in use, to keep running costs and maintenance low.
Each home boasts three multi-purpose living areas, offering loads of flexibility to suit the owners’ lifestyles - whether they’re wanting a home theatre, library or playroom for the kids.
“We have a lot of people come in and say ‘it’s so deceiving’. From the street, they look like townhouses but they’re actually standalone homes.”
The only challenge the Bosse’s encountered was an issue with the internet after handover. After a phone call to Peter Bowen Homes’ electrician, a team arrived the following day and the issue was resolved the next.
“I don’t think you could build with anyone better. They’ve got the reputation, the people, the network of trades and suppliers. Our builds moved along seamlessly and Peter Bowen Homes did everything they said they’d do.”
